Setting up Microsoft Outlook:

Setting up Outlook Express:

To set up your Outlook Express to work with the new mail server platform, please follow these instructions:


Open Outlook Express. On the top level navigation bar, click Tools and on the drop down menu which appears, click Accounts.


You will then see the following screen.


On the right hand side, click Add and then Mail. This takes you to the following screen.

Choose a name for your account as you would like it to appear on emails you send. Then click Next

On this screen, write in your full email address. Then click Next to go to the following screen;

Here, enter the email settings needed to download your email. These are;

Incoming mail (POP3) - mail.<your domain name>
Outgoing mail (SMTP) - mail.<your domain name>

(PLEASE NOTE : You have to replace <your domain name> with your website domain name without www.
For eg. if your website is www.xyz.com, then you have to specify mail server as mail.xyz.com)

Then click Next

Enter your account name and password. Remember that your account name is your full email address.

Leave the checkbox Log on using Secure Password Authentication clear, and then click Next

Click Finish to end the set up process.


IMPORTANT: Now double check the settings you have created
and follow the steps below

Click on the 'Tools' menu, then select 'Accounts'. Choose the 'Mail' tab, then click on your current email account.

Then click on the 'Properties' button, then select the 'Servers' tab.

Put a tick in the box marked "My server requires authentication". This should suffice, but just to be sure, click on the 'Settings' button


In the 'Outgoing Mail Server Settings' box, ensure that the option marked "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" is selected.

Click OK on all screens to accept the changes.
